Zelensky called on Israel to provide assistance to Ukraine and join the sanctions against Russia

According to the president, official Jerusalem has ignored most of Kyiv’s requests and is not moving towards rapprochement with the Ukrainians.

Israel should join the sanctions pressure against Russia, as well as help Ukraine in the military and humanitarian sphere. About it declared President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking to representatives of leading Israeli universities.

The head of state recalled that on Friday, June 24, it will be four months since the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Armed Forces, as a result of which hundreds of settlements were destroyed and thousands of civilians were killed.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the people of Israel for the sincere and emotional support of the Ukrainians, but he would like to see such help from not only ordinary Israelis, but also from the country’s authorities.

“We understand that it is not easy for you, but we would very much like to write in the column in front of your state about the assistance to our army that we received. We would like to indicate something there. The Israeli authorities have suspended the visa-free regime. Right now this is happening. I do not I want to give assessments to this and I have no right to do so. I have absolutely no right. This is the choice of each state. I just want you to think about it yourself,” the head of state continued and cited as an example the countries of the European Union, which from the first day of the invasion The RF Armed Forces provide financial, humanitarian and military assistance to Ukraine.

Separately, Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Israel for the donated medicines, however, as the president notes, official Jerusalem ignored most of the requests. The head of state noted that Ukrainians and Israelis are very close and have much in common. However, Zelensky does not know why the Israeli authorities cannot take an example from the society and promote rapprochement with Ukraine in the conditions of a full-scale war.

“I care about the future relations between our states and peoples. That is why I tell you this openly – eye to eye. I am sure that the war will end and we will win this war. And we have a common future. A great future for great peoples, because there is a great history and a great past. We will have to look into each other’s eyes for many, many more years. Especially your generation, because students are the future,” Zelensky summed up, speaking to representatives of Israel’s leading universities.

Recall that a few days earlier, President Vladimir Zelensky met with Hollywood actor Ben Stiller in Kyivwho flew to Ukraine as a UN Goodwill Ambassador.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also warned that at the end of June Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will intensify offensive operations.
