In the EU countries, Internet platforms have been identified that lure refugees from Ukraine into sexual and labor slavery, the press service of the European Police Agency Europol reports on June 23.
It is specified that at the same time, a group of law enforcement officers checked 125 online platforms and identified nine suspects of human trafficking.
“Law enforcement officers found a significant number of suspicious job offers to Ukrainian women, which were described as “photo sessions”. Victims were lured with offers of “bright prospects” and then involved in sexual exploitation, – stated in a statement on the Europol website.
There are currently 15 investigations into such cases.
