The government and parliament can raise taxes if the situation with the filling of the state budget Ukraine will get worse. We are talking about raising VAT, returning the excise tax on fuel, as well as expanding the military tax on imports.

This is reported in the article “RBC-Ukraine”.

Additional funds may be needed to finance the army.

“If the situation suddenly worsens, then it will be necessary to consider issues related to finding additional state budget revenues. Basic taxes will not change, but what you are talking about (excise and VAT on fuel and military duty on imports, – ed.), it is quite possible, since it is necessary to finance the armed forces,” said Oleg Ustenko, presidential adviser on economic issues.

The head of the Tax Committee of the Rada, Daniil Getmantsev, noted that until the relevant measures are taken, there is nothing to discuss.

“It’s too early to talk about innovations. Discussions are underway in the financial and economic bloc of the government. There is nothing to comment on. I propose to return to substantive consideration after receiving the relevant bills from the Cabinet of Ministers,” he said.

As UNIAN previously reported, the NBU plans to stop “print money” for the state budget in 2024.
