Trutnev spoke about the impact of Western sanctions on the Russian Arctic

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev at a meeting of the State Commission for the Development of the Arctic, he announced what the Western sanctions had led to.

“The severance of economic ties with Western countries has led to a reversal of traffic flows to exporting enterprises to the East, sharply increasing the load on the Baikal-Amur Mainline and the Trans-Siberian Railway. According to estimates, today the capacity deficit of the eastern landfill is more than 100 million tons,” — Trutnev said at a meeting on June 23.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Northern Sea Route should take on the increased transport load.
