The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation at a morning briefing on August 1 announced that two launchers of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems had been destroyed in Kharkov. The Ministry of Defense said in a statement that they were on the territory of the Ukrainian Energy Machines plant, which was hit with a “precision strike.”
Earlier, the Russian military announced the destruction of four HIMARS MLRS. On July 6, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it had destroyed two HIMARS launchers on the territory of the self-proclaimed DPR, and on July 17 – one more near the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. July 22 Ministry of Defense announcedthat from July 5 to July 20, four HIMARS MLRS launchers were destroyed.
The reports of the Ministry of Defense featured “a transport-loading vehicle of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system”, which this weapon supplied to Ukraine from the United States does not have.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine previously called reports of the destruction of HIMARS “fake”, and representatives of the Pentagon spokethat they do not have data confirming the loss of at least one such installation.
Information about how many MLRS HIMARS at the beginning of August the United States transferred to Ukraine as part of military assistance is not available in open sources.
