The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will provide a loan to Moldova

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide a loan of €300 million to Moldova due to the country’s problems in the field of energy supply, the press service of the credit organization reported.

The funds will be allocated in two tranches – € 200 million and € 100 million. The first amount will be used to “prevent failures” in the electric power industry, and the second – to create strategic gas reserves in Ukraine or Romania for Chisinau.

The EBRD noted that the loan should cover up to 20% of Moldova’s planned costs for the import of blue fuel in 2022.

As reported IA REGNUMSpeaker of the Moldovan Parliament Igor Grosu advised the inhabitants of the republic to prepare for the winter and learn to save.
