The Pope called the Russian people great and confessed his love for him

“I really appreciate the Russian people and Russian humanism. Remember Dostoevsky, who still inspires us Christians to this day. I have sincere sympathy for the Russian people and the Ukrainian people, I am among the two peoples that I love,” the agency quotes him as saying ANSA.

Speaking about the conflict in Ukraine, the pontiff noted that he does not believe in the cruelty of the Russian people, because “the Russian people are a great people.” Francis, along with this, admits that the responsibility lies “on mercenaries, on soldiers who go to war as an adventure.”
