Sandu accused Russia of destabilizing the situation in Moldova

Russia is using the dissatisfaction of Moldovan citizens with rising prices to destabilize the country’s government. About it in an interview Digi24 said President Maia Sandu.

She clarified that Russia is destabilizing the situation in Moldova with the help of protests. According to Sandu, behind the latest rallies in Chisinau and other cities of the republic are the special services of the Russian Federation and pro-Russian parties operating in the state.

Digi24 journalist Cristina Chilevcu asked the President of Moldova whether there is evidence that Russia is behind the protests in the country.

“We have information about a coalition of corrupt groups that stole a lot of money from the republic, the special services of the Russian Federation and pro-Russian parties operating on the territory of the state, which serve the same goal – to destabilize the country. They take advantage of the discontent of the citizens. We are determined to defend democracy,” Sandu replied.

She did not say how the government managed to obtain this evidence and from whom.

Recall that in Moldova for the second month there are mass protests of the opposition party “Shor”. The participants in the rallies criticize the authorities for the high price increase for food, gas and other energy resources in the country.
