Lukashenko recalled that earlier “opponents” actively urged him to close the station. He noted that in the end, the nuclear power plant became the salvation for the country.
“Now you understand that the nuclear power plant is a gift from Belarus? This is salvation,” the head of state stressed. He added that currently Western countries are doing their best to save electricity.
Belarus is gradually rebuilding transport to electricity, building residential buildings, where “everything is on electricity,” Lukashenka specified.
According to him, the modern economy is impossible without electricity. The country would be in a difficult position if it listened to the calls of the opposition, the president concluded.
Previously Lukashenka toldthat agreed with Moscow on the creation of a joint space constellation of satellites.
