Red Hot Chili Peppers and Dead Kennedys drummer dies due to head injury

AT Los Angeles American musician Darren Henley, better known as D.H. Peligro, has died. About it informs NME.

The drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Dead Kennedys died from a head injury caused by an accidental fall, police said. He was 63 years old.

Henley was born on July 9, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri. He joined The Dead Kennedys in February 1981 and made his debut with the group on the EP In God We Trust, Inc. which was released in December of that year. He later contributed to such albums as Plastic Surgery Disasters, Frankenchrist and Bedtime for Democracy. The group disbanded in 1986 and reunited in 2001.

DH Peligro began collaborating with the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1988 when he replaced drummer Jack Irons. Before that, he was friends with the band members for many years and played in the comedy group Three Little Butt Hairs, which also included Anthony Kiedis and Flea from RHCP. Other bands Henley has collaborated with include The Hellations, Jungle Studs, Nailbomb, The Feederz, Lock-Up, The Two Free Stooges and SSI.
