Izvestia: The Ministry of Defense supported the idea of Sergei Mironov to introduce military training in schools
First Deputy Minister of Defense Russia Valery Gerasimov stated that the department advocated the introduction of basic military training in schools and vocational schools. He told about this in a response to the head of the party “Fair Russia – For Truth” Sergei Mironov, write “News”.
Gerasimov said that the Ministry of Defense proposed to introduce a subject in the amount of 140 hours over the last two years of study. Mironov’s idea was conceived to be supported in all factions of the parliament, according to which only people with combat experience can teach the NVP to Russian schoolchildren – for example, combat veterans and representatives of law enforcement agencies.
“With the start of the special military operation, this issue became especially acute. Even many volunteers do not have the necessary experience to participate in combat operations. The introduction of such a subject in schools will allow for the systematic preparation of citizens for a possible confrontation with the enemy, ”Mironov emphasized.
The parliamentarian clarified that he meant not only technical training, which includes military tactics, fire training, the basics of military medicine, but also psychological. The initiative will help employ tens of thousands of people, he said.
