Russia is ready to invest in the development of ports in Iran for its cargo
Iran proposed Russia use their ports to supply goods to world markets, and Moscow willing to invest in their development. About this following the meeting of the Russian-Iranian intergovernmental commission reported Russian Government.
The parties also confirmed their readiness to cooperate in the construction of a large-tonnage fleet at Iranian shipyards and a cargo fleet at Russian ones. The meeting was held from October 30 to November 1 at Grozny.
Also during the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Novak declared about the beginning of deliveries of oil products to Iran and the imminent expansion of their range. He stressed that the trade turnover of the countries in the first eight months of this year increased by 35.4 percent, to $3.3 billion.
Cooperation between Russia and Iran began to develop actively against the backdrop of Western sanctions imposed on Moscow after the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine. Russia in recent months agreed on the purchase of Iranian gas turbines, as well as details and equipment for the repair of civil aircraft.
