The Romanian Foreign Ministry announced the absence of territorial claims against Ukraine
MFA Romania commented on the assumption regarding possible territorial claims on the part of the state in relation to Ukraine. This is reported TASS.
The department called such suspicions false, stating that Bucharest does not have any territorial claims to Ukraine. The ministry also once again stressed that Romania expresses “strong support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.”
In September, former Romanian Foreign Minister Andrei Marga urged Ukraine to transfer its territories Russia, Hungary, Poland and Romania. According to him, Ukraine is in unnatural borders and it should cede its lands. Marga also spoke about the lack of democracy in Kyivpointing to the ban on parties in the country and the existing oligarchy.
Later head of the Romanian Foreign Ministry commented his statement, emphasizing its historical accuracy, conformity with international law and the common interest. He noted that he was ready to confirm his convictions at any moment.
