According to him, October 30 as the Day of Remembrance for Victims of Political Repressions should not be forgotten. “Unlike some other countries, we do not deny what we do not like, and we do not try to sweep hard facts under the rug. The history of the country is inevitably different, with dark and light periods,” Fadeev said.
At the same time, he noted that, together with his colleagues, he is engaged in educational activities. “We are following the memorials and graves found, we are working on creating a unified database of victims of political repression,” the head of the HRC said, adding that in early November, in Tomsk A new Gulag museum will appear.
