The European Council has taken a “historic decision” by granting Moldova candidate status for EU membership. The Moldovan President wrote about this on social networks Maya Sandu.
The head of state believes that “Road to the European Union” will bring to the inhabitants of the republic “more wealth, opportunity and order”. She noted that ahead of Moldova “a difficult road that will require a lot of teamwork and effort to pass”.
In turn, the Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Nicolai Popescu expressed the opinion that the process of the country’s accession to the EU will be long, and Chisinau should stock up on perseverance, as well as patience for this.
