The Russian Federation is ready to provide military assistance to China in the event of an armed conflict in Taiwan.

This was stated by Vladimir Dzhabarov, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, writes a propaganda TASS.

According to him, after the visit of the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan, China supposedly “understood that they need to get closer to Russia in the future.”

So far, Russia “has no reason to refuse assistance to the PRC” in the event of an armed conflict on the island, if they ask for it.

“I see no reason to refuse assistance to the Chinese, but I would like this movement with China to be bilateral, that is, we should also receive some benefit from this cooperation,” he said.

“In principle, nothing is impossible. We understand that sometimes this is a matter of chance, some kind of conflict can occur, which can grow into a big war. But I think that China is very cautious in this regard, very restrained, but continues to build up its defense potential at an accelerated pace. And I am sure that China in this case hopes for some assistance from the Russian Federation,” Dzhabarov added, commenting on the risks of armed conflicts in Taiwan.

Recall that on August 2, Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi arrived on a visit to the island of Taiwan.

China has statedthat he would respond with “strong measures” if Pelosi went to Taiwan, and also noted that he “strongly objects” to a possible visit.
