Prosecutor General’s Office began checking employees in front-line regions – UNIAN

The purpose is to check the collaboration activities and measures to protect the premises of the prosecutor’s offices during the occupation.

New Attorney General Andrei Kostin launched a large internal internal investigation.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he said this on air telethon.

“Today, I signed an order to conduct an internal investigation against employees of the prosecutor’s office of the front-line regions, including those under temporary occupation,” he said.

According to him, the purpose of the investigation is to check who was where at the beginning of the war, what measures were taken to protect the premises of the prosecutor’s offices, case materials, property, and whether there is information about the involvement of employees in collaboration activities.

Kostin also noted that 5 prosecutors and 3 civil servants have already been informed about suspicion of collaborative activities. One case went to court. Work continues on more than 600 prosecutors who crossed the border during martial law.

As UNIAN reported, on July 19, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed from the post of Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova.

On the same day, by a parliamentary majority Ivan Bakanov was fired as head of the Security Service.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky explainedthat questions to the chairman of the SBU and the prosecutor general arose because of the large number of traitors among the employees of the prosecutor’s office and the SBU who remained in the occupied territory and work for the Russian Federation.
