The recall includes 2,700 Toyota bZ4X and 2,600 Subaru Solterra electric cars. Their owners are still advised not to drive these cars yet.
Electric crossovers Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra urgently recalled for repair. They can fall off the wheels right on the move. About it informs Reuters agency.
The reason for the recall is a defective wheel bolts. They are poorly tightened, and therefore the wheel mounts can loosen when braking hard or maneuvering on winding roads. As a result, noise can be heard, and in the worst case, the bolts will simply unscrew and the wheels will fall off.
A total of 2,700 Toyota electric vehicles are being recalled – 2,200 in Europe, 260 in the US, 20 in Canada and 110 in Japan. Defective Subaru counted 2600, but did not specify in which countries they were delivered.
Subaru Solterra and Toyota bZ4X electric cars have only recently gone on sale, and therefore there are still a few of them on the roads and most of the cars with malfunctions have not yet reached the owners. In any case, automakers strongly recommend not to drive these crossovers.
