The European Union assumes responsibility for Ukraine by granting Kyiv the status of an EU candidate. This was announced to journalists in Brussels by the Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
He noted that the decision taken is historic. Morawiecki emphasized that it was the result of “effective efforts” Poland and a number of other European countries that have “broad diplomatic and political work”.
