Italian politicians discuss petrol price regulation

The Brothers of Italy party supports the initiative to set maximum prices for automotive fuel at gas stations, representatives of the right-wing conservatives said on June 23.

However, the government, not the opposition, should come up with such an initiative, the party believes. The idea has already been discussed in the media, but has not received a formal status. In particular, the ministers should inform where they intend to get funds for the implementation of such a task, representatives of the “Brothers of Italy” noted.

As previously reported, the cost of a liter of gasoline and diesel in Italy increased by 30% and exceeded 2 euros. The halving of the excises temporarily stabilized the situation, but then the prices began to rise again.
