The total area of forest fires per day in Russia increased by almost 10% (by 6359 hectares) and, according to the data on the morning of June 24, is 71,322 hectares. This was reported by the press service of the Federal Air Forest Protection.
2365 people, 252 pieces of equipment and 44 aircraft and helicopters are involved in the fight against fire. Another 95 aircraft are involved in monitoring the fire situation.
The most serious situation with forest fires is currently observed in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (36,026 ha), in Yakutia (23,833 ha) and in the Irkutsk region (9,776 ha).
