In Moscow, the management of a burned-out hostel was detained

In Moscow, the founder and CEO of the hostel was detained, as a result of a fire in which eight people died. How informs On July 30, the Moscow Department of the Investigative Committee, searches are being carried out in the homes of the 55-year-old founder and the 24-year-old general director.

The names of the detainees have not been released. The investigation intends to petition for their arrest.

The Investigative Committee is investigating a criminal case under part 3 of article 238 of the Criminal Code (Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more persons through negligence).

Fire in a hostel on Alma-Ata street happened on the night of 29 July. 200 people were evacuated from the building. All the dead were foreign citizens. According to one version, which is considered by the investigation, faulty wiring became the cause of the fire.

In the Ministry of Emergency Situations toldthat the fire alarm installed in the building did not work, and there were bars on the windows that prevented the rescue of people. According to preliminary data, all eight victims slept in the same room and were poisoned by combustion products.
