Gazprom has stopped gas supplies to Latvia. This was reported by the press service of the company.
“Today, PJSC Gazprom stopped gas supplies to Latvia as part of the July application, due to violation of the conditions for gas withdrawal,” the message says.
Gazprom did not specify what kind of violations of the conditions in question.
Latvia announced on the resumption of purchases of Russian gas interrupted in the spring on July 29. At the same time, the Latvijas gaze operator emphasized that the fuel is not bought directly from Gazprom, but through intermediaries, and that it is paid for in euros.
In mid-July, the Latvian Parliament decided to completely ban natural gas supplies from Russia from January 1, 2023.
