First COVID-19 patient dies in Bangladesh in June

In Bangladesh, for the first time in June 2022, a patient with a coronavirus infection died, according to the press service of the country’s Ministry of Health.

It is noted that the death case among COVID-19 patients in Bangladesh is recorded for the first time in the past 21 days. Also, over the past day, 873 people infected with a new type of coronavirus were detected in the country. Since the start of the pandemic, Bangladesh has confirmed 1,957,200 cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

At the same time, the peak incidence of coronavirus infection in the country occurred in July 2021. Since that time, the number of patients with COVID-19 has steadily declined. It is specified that the mortality rate among patients with coronavirus infection in the country is 1.49%. A total of 29,132 people have died from complications of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in Bagladesh.
