The Ministry of Health told whether it is necessary to inject a booster dose of the vaccine if a person has already been ill COVID-19.

This was reported to the Ministry of Health in the official Telegram- channel.

“Even if after two doses of the vaccine you have been ill with COVID-19, you should get a booster dose of the vaccine. Separately, we recall that the vaccine protects against severe course and death due to coronavirus. The effectiveness of vaccines against coronavirus disease fades over time. New strains of the virus also appear. The booster dose helps to restore the effectiveness of the vaccine and prolong protection against severe course and death from COVID-19.

They emphasized that it is especially advisable to take care of getting a booster for people from risk groups.

“These are elderly people, people with cardiovascular, pulmonary diseases, as well as cancer and diabetes. They can have a severe course of covid, go to the hospital and even die from it,” the message says.

As UNIAN reported, in Ukraine allowed a second booster dose vaccines against COVID-19 for all people aged 60 years and over, as well as people 18-59 years old with chronic diseases.
