China’s National Radio and Television Administration and the country’s Ministry of Tourism and Culture have jointly issued a set of regulatory protocols for webcast hosts, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The protocols apply to performers who provide webcasts, video and audio services over the Internet, and also serve as links for virtual hosts powered by artificial intelligence technology. According to the protocols, webcasters must maintain the right tone in political orientation, communication with the public and values, and actively embody the core socialist values.
Content creators in fields with relatively high thresholds, such as health care, finance, law and education, must obtain professional qualifications before working online, the protocols say.
