The 1 + 1 media group, together with the Tribuna.com publication, continues to implement the large-scale communication campaign “Sports Front”, the purpose of which is to block Russian and Belarusian national teams and teams, boycott Russian and Belarusian athletes who spoke “for the war” or did not voice their position , and comprehensive support for Ukrainian sports.
Anna Rizatdinova, Ukrainian rhythmic gymnast, bronze medalist of the 2016 Olympic Games, multiple medalist of the World and European Championships, became the ambassador of the initiative.
In thematic video Anna said that because of the war that Russia started with the support of Belarus, Ukrainian athletes had to leave their homes to save their lives. However, Katya Dyachenko, a talented gymnast from Mariupol, did not manage to escape. The girl died as a result of the collapse of the house after being hit by an enemy shell. Additionally, the bronze medalist of the Olympic Games urged the athletes not to be silent and support the boycott of Russians and Belarusians, and social network users to record videos with relevant messages and distribute them on the Internet.
“Not a single coach or rhythmic gymnast from the Russian Federation and Belarus expressed words of sympathy and support after the start of a full-scale invasion. The death of Katya Dyachenko also did not hurt the representatives of my sport from Russia and Belarus,” commented Anna Rizatdinova.
The titled rhythmic gymnast hails from Ukrainian Simferopol, which Russia annexed in 2014.
“Russian rhythmic gymnasts not only keep silent about the war in Ukraine, but also support the attack of the Russian Federation on peaceful Ukrainian lands. Kremlin propaganda” shouts “that sport is out of politics. However, how can sport remain out of politics when the first numbers of the Russian rhythmic gymnastics team – Averina’s sisters – joined the propaganda concert-rally dedicated to the annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol ?!” Anna said.
The video is available for viewing and distribution on the social networks of the 1+1 media group and on the YouTube channels 1+1 and TSN. The social campaign is also broadcast as part of the telethon “United News”.
Among the 1 + 1 media sites that are also involved in the project are TSN, Snidanok z 1 + 1, Profootball Digital, FootballHub, Pro Sport, TSN.ia, UNIAN and many other resources. The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, as well as Tribuna.com.
The key hashtags of the initiative are #BoycottRussianSport, #TurnOffRussia, #StandWithUkraine, #StopWar, #russiaisateroriststate.
