Biden prepares statement on strengthening NATO bloc – White House

At the upcoming NATO summit in Madrid, US President Joe Biden will announce new commitments to strengthen the military capabilities of the North Atlantic Alliance, the White House National Security Council (NSC) strategic communications coordinator said on June 23 John Kirby.

“At the NATO summit, new commitments to strengthen the defense capability of NATO will be announced”Kirby said.

In addition, he pointed out that for the first time representatives of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region will participate in the bloc’s summit in Madrid.

“For the first time, the leaders of Australia, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea will attend the summit, which will provide an opportunity to convey the message that the United States and its allies will defend the principles of independence and territorial integrity, regardless of their location,” Kirby stated.

Recall that the NATO summit in Madrid is scheduled for June 29-30.
