Russian President Vladimir Putin said that preliminary prerequisites for the demarcation and delimitation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan have already been found. However, there is no peace treaty between these countries yet.
Putin explained that the future peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku will be the result of a common compromise. Work on uncoordinated issues, according to the statement of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, will go on in a closed format. The President of the Russian Federation noted that it is not necessary to focus on these issues, informs TASS on Monday, October 31st.
To decide on the demarcation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Russia is ready to provide the most accurate maps created for the Soviet General Staff. The fate of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in the Transcaucasus will be decided depending on the progress of work on the demarcation of the border.
Earlier, following the results of the trilateral meeting, the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan published joint statement. Baku and Yerevan agreed, among other things, to refrain from the use of force or the threat of its use.
