Understanding the causes and consequences of the special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine should be included in the requirements for the objective results of mastering the basic history course for high school students. This follows from the draft federal basic general education programs (FOOP) of secondary general education, which are being developed by the Ministry of Education of Russia.
According to the document which quotes RIA Novosti, the list of requirements for the results of mastering the school history course may also include “understanding of the significance of Russia in the world political and socio-economic processes of the 20th – early 21st centuries, knowledge of the achievements of the country and its people.”
Schoolchildren are also invited to understand the causes and consequences of the reunification of Crimea with Russia, the special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine and other major events of the 20th – early 21st centuries.
Along with this, the FOOP project involves the inclusion in the history course for high school students of the topic of the fight against the coronavirus infection pandemic in Russia, as well as the study of the international oil crisis of 2020.
Earlier, Rosobrnadzor said that issues related to the special operation in Ukraine will appear in the unified state exam in history after making appropriate changes to the federal state educational standard and, accordingly, to work programs and textbooks. The department did not give exact dates.
