Russia is interested in selling oil even with the introduction of a “ceiling” of prices

It will be profitable for Russia to sell oil even in the conditions of the introduction of a “ceiling” of prices for this energy carrier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said at a press conference.

“Russia can make whatever decisions it wants, but I think it will be interested in continuing to sell energy resources,” Blinken said. His quotes Interfax on Friday, November 4th.

According to the US representative, Russia will sell oil at a fixed price so that the country and the economy can function.

Earlier it was reported that the G7 countries agreed on a “ceiling” for oil prices from Russia. The coalition partners decided to review the fixed cost regularly and change it as needed. Restrictions on oil will come into force on December 5, for oil products – from February 2023.

The President of the Russian Federation, commenting on these agreements of Western countries, said that Moscow was not going to sell oil to foreign states if this would be contrary to its own interests.
