"Glazier’s herring": Swedish-style savory appetizer

There are many fish dishes in Swedish cuisine, one of them is called glasm√§starsill – “glazier’s herring”. A feature of this snack is the combination of sweet and salty tastes, as well as the use of glassware in cooking. In it, an appetizer is served to the table: layers of multi-colored vegetables are clearly visible through the glass. According to a common version, this is what gave the spicy herring appetizer such a name.
