The export of vegetable oils from Russia from January to September 2022 increased by 29% compared to the same period in 2021. This was announced on Monday, October 31, in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
The largest share in sales is given to sunflower oil – 68% of the total volume. Next come rapeseed and soybean oils. They account for 19% and 13%, respectively, clarified in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
Turkey is the leader among importers of Russian sunflower oil: the increase is about 42%. At the same time, deliveries of rapeseed oil to China increased, more than doubling compared to the same period in 2021.
Among the regions of Russia in 2022, Rostov, Kaliningrad and Belgorod regions were named leaders in exports.
In July became aware of an increase export quotas for sunflower oil. The measure was aimed at supporting manufacturers so that they could organize additional deliveries of their products abroad.
According to preliminary forecasts, the Russian Federation may become the main exporter of sunflower oil. The Prime Minister of Russia spoke about this in mid-October. It is expected that in 2022 the production of sunflower oil in the country, according to the previously announced forecast of the Oil and Fat Union, will be more than 7 million tons, of which 4.7 million tons will be exported.
